МКФ у Берліні оголосив половину програми секції «Панорама».
With 22 titles representing 21 countries, including 14 world premieres and 13 European (co-)productions, the second-most-important section of the Berlinale is half complete.
The first 22 titles selected for the Panorama section of the 69th Berlin International Film Festival (7-17 February 2019) have been announced by section director Paz Lázaro, and co-curator and programme manager Michael Stütz. This first batch of films, which represents half of the final selection of the second-most-important programme of the major German festival (and involves a total of 21 production countries), includes five documentaries, nine debuts, eight fully European (co-)productions, five co-productions involving EU countries and 14 films that will screen as world premieres.
Amongst the highlights in this first series of films is Seamus Murphy’s documentary on PJ Harvey; a movie by renowned British auteur Joanna Hogg, which unites Tilda Swinton and her daughter Honor Swinton-Byrne in her first lead role; Oscar-nominated US actor Jonah Hill’s debut behind the camera; and a portrait of controversial film critic Pauline Kael and her influence on a male-dominated universe by Rob Garver, which includes the testimonies of such personalities as Sarah Jessica Parker, Quentin Tarantino, Alec Baldwin, David O Russell and Paul Schrader.
