Режисер Браян Сінгер подякував за перемогу «Богемної рапсодії» на «Золотому глобусі».

The director, who was fired from the Freddie Mercury biopic during production, was not mentioned by star Rami Malek or the producers of the film during their acceptance speeches.

Bryan Singer was the elephant in the room at the 75th Golden Globes on Sunday as Bohemian Rhapsody picked up two awards.

The director, who was fired from the Queen biopic during production and replaced by Dexter Fletcher, was conspicuously not thanked or mentioned in acceptance speeches by the film’s star, Rami Malek, who won the best actor in a drama award, or producer Graham King, who picked up the best film (drama) award.

Singer posted a response, of sorts, to the cold shoulder he received on his Instagram on Sunday evening. The Red Sonja director posted a picture of Malek and his co-star filming the “I Want to Break Free” scene, along with a simple caption: “What an honor. Thank you #HollywoodForeignPress.”

Singer was fired from Bohemian Rhapsody in December 2017 after what 20th Century Fox said were unexplained absences from the set. Eddie the Eagle director Fletcher replaced Singer shortly after to finish filming. Despite his firing, Singer was credited as the film’s director due to DGA rules.
